Learn how to generate and understand business reports and analytics in Bill Analyze.

Revenue Reports

Step 1.1: Access Revenue Reports

Go to "Reports" in the sidebar, then select "Revenue Report".

In the left sidebar, click "Reports". Then look for "Revenue Report" in the reports menu or click on it from the reports dashboard.

Step 1.2: Select Date Range

Use the date picker to select a date range (e.g., This Month, Last Month, Custom Range) for the revenue report.

At the top of the revenue report page, you'll find date filter options. Click on the date picker to select your desired date range.

Step 1.3: View Revenue Data

The report displays total revenue, revenue by month, revenue trends, and a breakdown by customer or product.

The revenue report page shows charts, graphs, and tables displaying your revenue data. Scroll down to see detailed breakdowns and trends.

Tax Reports

Step 2.1: Open Tax Report

Navigate to "Reports" → "Tax Report" from the sidebar.

In the Reports section, find and click on "Tax Report" to view GST and tax-related information.

Step 2.2: Select Tax Period

Choose the tax period (monthly or quarterly) and date range for which you want to view tax information.

Use the date range selector at the top of the tax report page to choose your desired period.

Step 2.3: Review Tax Summary

The report shows total CGST, SGST, IGST collected, tax liability, and a breakdown by invoice. This helps with GST filing.

Profit & Loss Statements

Step 3.1: Access P&L Report

Go to "Reports" → "Profit & Loss Report".

In the Reports section, find and click on "Profit & Loss Report" to view your business profitability.

Step 3.2: Select Period

Choose the date range for your profit & loss statement (monthly, quarterly, or custom range).

Use the date range selector to choose the period for which you want to see profit and loss calculations.

Step 3.3: Analyze Profitability

The report shows total revenue, operational costs, gross profit, net profit, and profit margins. This helps you understand your business profitability.

The P&L report displays revenue at the top, followed by costs, and calculates profit at the bottom. Review each section to understand your financial performance.

Payment Status Reports

Step 4.1: Open Payment Status Report

Navigate to "Reports" → "Payment Status Report".

In the Reports section, find and click on "Payment Status Report" to view payment information.

Step 4.2: View Payment Summary

The report shows invoices by status (Received, Pending, Overdue), total amounts, and payment trends.

Step 4.3: Export Reports

Click the "Export" or "Download" button to save any report as PDF or Excel for record-keeping or sharing.

Understanding Metrics & Tooltips

Metric Info Cards

Every report summary card now features an information icon (i).

  • Instant Clarity: Hover over the info icon to see a detailed explanation of what that metric represents.
  • Calculation Logic: Understand exactly how specific values (like Taxable Value or Gross Profit) are calculated.
  • Contextual Accuracy: Metrics automatically update based on your selected month/year filter at the top of the page.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Use the **Interactive Month/Year Picker** on the Dashboard for quick periodic reviews
  • Hover over **Info Tooltips** to ensure you're interpreting metrics correctly
  • Compare performance across different years using the **Annual View** in charts
  • Export reports monthly for consistent record-keeping and tax compliance
